When Will the Human Mind be Uploaded to a Computer?

The European Union, recently announced it was funding a $1.3 billion project to build a human brain on a silicon substrate. That’s about 1 1/2 cents per neuron. Swiss neuroscientist Henry Markham, who is behind the Human Brain Project, has already started work on building a simulated rat brain

At the same time, getting machines to think more like humans is also progressing. Especially in the realm of human-computer interfaces. Especially in the realm of human-computer interfaces. Researchers are figuring out ways for victims of paralysis to control their artificial hands with brainwaves or even walk with exoskeletons.

Mind uploading, is the hypothetical process of transferring or copying a conscious mind from a brain to a non-biological substrate by scanning and mapping a biological brain in detail and copying its state into a computer system or another computational device. The computer would have to run a simulation model so faithful to the original that it would behave in essentially the same way as the original brain. Alternatively, the simulated mind could be assumed to reside in a computer inside or connected to a humanoid robot or a biological body, replacing its brain.

DARPA’s Human Experiments: Creation of Transhuman Soldiers

(DARPA) has a $2 billion yearly budget for research into creating a super solider as well as developing a synthetic police force. Working with the human genome, DARPA hopes to manipulate certain gene expressions. In experimentation, DARPA and the military industrial pharmaceutical complex are using natural abilities that are enhanced through genetic engineering. The US military’s future technology division is reportedly eyeing tampering with soldiers’ genes, allowing them to go for days without food or sleep and re-grow limbs lost in battle or due to landmines.

Scientists at DARPA hope to find a way to affect certain genes, researching the construction of soldiers that feel no pain, terror and do not suffer from fatigue. Researching a drug that can make people go for hours without sleep and stay alert.Tests on the wiring of the human brain are furthered by Jonathan Moreno, professor of bioethics at Pennsylvania State University. Moreno is working with the DoD in understanding neuroscience. The Pentagon allocated $400 million to this research. DARPA is learning how to genetically modify human fat into pure energy by rewiring the metabolic switch which would create soldiers that require less food. By using gene therapy and combining enhancements to alter the color of the human eye is a blending of mutations that have no basis in the natural world.

Roger Pitman , professor of psychiatry at Harvard University is experimenting with propranolol which is a beta blocker that is believed to erase “terrifying memories”, soldiers are subjected to more research while serving to alleviate the psychological effects of war. Moreno explains: “The problem is: what else are they blocking when they do this? Do we want a generation of veterans who return without guilt?”

Monsanto hired mercenary Blackwater to infiltrate anti-GMO groups

Recent investigation reveals that Blackwater has been busy expanding its corporate reach by providing intelligence services for agencies such as the Canadian Military, Netherlands Police and corporations like Monsanto.

Journalist Jeremy Scahill, who wrote a book about Blackwater, wrote an exclusive for The Nation, revealing general details of the extent of the Blackwater business operations. Scahill managed to obtain documents that, according to Scahill, show that:”… entities closely linked to the private security firm Blackwater have provided intelligence, training and security services to US and foreign governments as well as several multinational corporations, including Monsanto, Chevron, the Walt Disney Company,and banking giants Deutsche Bank and Barclays. Blackwater’s work for corporations and government agencies was contracted using two companies owned by Blackwater’s owner and founder, (Knight of Malta) Erik Prince:
Total Intelligence Solutions and the Terrorism Research Center.

A spokesperson for Monsanto, reached by Scahill, first denied the relationship with Blackwater, but then admitted that Monsanto had paid Total Intelligence for intelligence reports: “… about the activities of groups or individuals that could pose a risk to company personnel or operations around the world which were developed by monitoring local media reports and other publicly available information. The subject matter ranged from information regarding terrorist incidents in Asia or kidnappings in Central America to scanning the content of activist blogs and websites.”

The news that Monsanto hired a Blackwater company for intelligence reports is rocketing around the world via anti-GMO activists. Blogger Rady Ananda summed up the relationship between Monsanto and Blackwater as ” A death-tech firm weds a hit squad.”"

20% Of Human Genome Already Patented By Corporations

*These are the finishing touches in the corporatist(Fascist)domination of Western civilization. Control of your access to information , Control of your access to life’s essential resources, and now control and manipulation of the genome of the entire human race is at stake.*

At the base level, the fact that our genes can be ‘owned’ by mega firms and universities that are willing to ‘buy’ them is extremely concerning. The thought invokes several comparisons to the film Gattaca, where ‘designer’ children are created through genetic manipulation of humanity at large. over the past 30 years alone, over 40,000 gene patents have been generated and approved. Quite simply, the blueprint of humanity is being purchased like a commodity.

Gene Wars: The Government Plays God

Beyond even the debate about what this means for humanity, consider the fact that for the corporations to be able to ‘buy’ the ownership of genes means that the entity granting the approval must therefore have the authority over the genes in the first place. This means that the government, legally, is ‘granting access’ to companies to patent the genetics only through proclaiming that it has the authority to do so. The government is therefore legally saying that they literally can rule over our genetic code — our bodies themselves. And if the government rules over the essence of what we are and can let corporations buy up the blueprint of life, then we now have a government that has declared itself to be God. And we then have a population that is walking intellectual property.

US Justice Dept acknowledges wide-ranging surveillance of Associated Press

(This just highlights how pervasive and out of control that this Secretive police state Surveillance society has become. Even though the Mainstream press parrots the official line of the Government, there are still a few cases of actual journalism and investigate reporting happening. And when it gets too close to the truth, this is what happens.)

The president of the Associated Press has sent a letter of protest to US Attorney General Eric Holder over the Department of Justice’s broad surveillance of individual reporters’ phone conversations.

In a letter received by the AP on Friday, the Justice Department acknowledged but offered no explanation for the seizure of two months’ worth of telephone records of reporters and editors. AP’s president, Gary Pruitt, called the ongoing monitoring a “massive and unprecedented intrusion.

The AP believes that more than 100 journalists are involved in the DOJ’s phone surveillance, which would have involved a wide variety of stories regarding government and other topics. Pruitt has called for the return of obtained phone records, as well as the destruction of all copies.

It is believed that phone records were obtained as part of a criminal investigation into leaked information about a CIA operation in Yemen that unraveled an Al-Qaeda plot in the spring of 2012 to detonate an explosive on a US-bound jet airliner.

Speculation on a link to that particular story was made by the AP based on the fact that phone numbers were obtained by the DoJ for five reporters and an editor involved in the May 7, 2012 story.

The rights of the US citizens are increasingly under attack, acknowledged Caleb Maupin from International Action Center.

Mainstream Media Tactic: Label All Opposing Views As ‘Conspiracy Theories’

What does the mainstream media do when they don’t want to discuss a real issue that diverts away the topic from political theater? Simply deem it a wild ‘conspiracy theory’ and pretend it doesn’t exist.

It’s a tried and true method. It has worked for a long line of question-dodging politicians, with both Bush and Obama speaking out against ‘conspiracy theories’ and those who warn against corruption and tyranny in government. Obama recently spoke to the graduating class of Ohio State University and repeated such warnings. He told the class to ignore and reject those warning of government tyranny, and went on to praise the new United States government system he called ‘brave’ and ‘unique’.

And anyone who decides to attack this ‘brave and unique’ government, or anyone who even questions reports by the government? They must be conspiracy nuts.

Government Criticism Now Equals ‘Conspiracy Theories’

The easiest way to deal with real issues certainly isn’t to refute the questions or discuss the information. No, it’s to brand those asking questions as conspiracy theorists. That, or just censor them altogether. Even Google employees have issued warnings on the official company blog regarding the continued requests initiated by governments around the globe to ‘pull’ content from Google’s massive search and blog service.

But of course we must ask: What do they have to fear? I mean after all, if the questions asked regarding the mega banks admittedly funding the Mexican drug cartels and terror cells are fake (even though NBC reports it’s confirmed along with other news sources), then why be worried? If it’s all just ‘conspiracy’ bunk, then it sure would be easy to go ahead and dispel the rumors once and for all.
