panopticon

The capacity to assert social and political control over the individual will vastly increase. As I have already noted, it will soon be possible to assert almost continuous surveillance over every citizen and to maintain up-to-date, complete files, containing even most personal information about the health or personal behavior of the citizen, in addition to more customary data. These files will be subject to instantaneous retrieval by the authorities

-Zbignew Brzezinski 1968

The above qoute as pronounced by Brzezinski over 40 years ago, Almost perfectly describes the current technotronic era that the world has shifted into. Was it a warning?, An inside insight? Who knows, but the reality is that what has been talked about by those seeking to increase centralized( Sociological and Psychological) authority, primarily through technological means is here and now.

The concept of the Panopticon as envisioned by Jeremy Bentham some 200 years ago, was a material failure in it’s time. But it’s spirit has lived on and has been integrated into what we could now call a a global (Technological) Panopticon.

Manipulation and control of the Masses is achieved through various means, some too vast to discuss in this article. But the main goal here is to illustrate the technological framework of a global surveillance system that is incrementally being implemented. If that sounds too crazy for you turn back now.

To begin with Current events, one aspect of the creeping surveillance state is Social Media monitoring. Prior to this week’s high profile Ft lauderdale Airport shooting, In December The DHS began implementing ( “optional”) monitoring of Foreign travelers social media accounts. Of course the primary pretext of Public safety and Anti-terrorism is implied here.
So with these continued events where the perpetrators were being monitored by the F.B.I., N.S.A. etc. How long will it be until it is required of ALL citizens to submit their social media activity to the Federal government,so that they can be satisfied that you are not a public threat, and that you’re sanctioned to travel?

If invasive physical searches,Violation of privacy and Secret government watch lists of citizens aren’t enough to “protect” public safety,of course the next incremental measure will be Biometric behavior based scanning A.K.A Mind reading Machines. Feel safe yet? Knowing that you’re a test subject in a massive surveillance project?

Pre-crime Reality, Locking down the System

precrimethoughtcrimesm 9

Pre-crime” another fictional concept, that is now mirrored into reality was first introduced in Phillip K Dick’s short story The Minority Report. As dystopic and and Sci-fi as this may sound, it’s a concept that is becoming a reality. In fact many police departments across the nation have implemented software and technologies that have adopted the concept of predictive policing, tracking the habits of a selected population in order to prevent further crime. Further studies have been conducted by Government affiliated analyst’s such as the Rand Corporation, and Stanford Research institute.
According to a Stanford research paper, this has gone far beyond conceptual and is currently on pace to be in use in a majority of American cities by 2030. Again this is no longer a fictional nor conceptual,it has advanced into an operational reality.

With this predictive policing model,Social Media again pops up as a big component of data mining the public. AI already scans and analyzes Twitter and other social media platforms to identify individuals prone to radicalization,
despite the well intention of such prevention it continues to expand to the rest of the public dramaticaly. As the report noted:

“Law enforcement agencies are increasingly interested in trying to detect plans for disruptive events from social media, and also to monitor activity at large gatherings of people to analyze security,” “There is significant work on crowd simulations to determine how crowds can be controlled.
” At the same time, legitimate concerns have been raised about the potential for law enforcement agencies to overreach and use such tools to violate people’s privacy.”

With the continuing advent of Computing,Artificial intelligence, and the “Internet of Things” (IOT) almost everything in the world (especially people) has become trackable, tracable and to a certain extent predictable. There is a long term plan in place to continue to use predictive models and tracking. The D.O.D being one of the biggest proponents has published a long term study entitled Defense 2045. As explained in Defense 2045:

The rise of the IOT and Big Data has profound implications for the defense community and society in general. Nearly every sector of the economy will be impacted: from Healthcare,to manufacturing to transportation- and especially finance and information technology. Two of the major outgrowths of Big Data are better abilities to track (people,,things, behavior and so on) and Predict (Defense 2045,page 35)

Mind Reading The Masses, No longer Sci-Fi

mind-820x300

For the Technocratic elite, nothing is left to chance. Advanced planning using Artificial intelligence and Analytic science is currently taking place. Through decades of information gathering (NSA spying primarily) the expected action/reaction of the public is gauged and predicted. Currently The C.I.A. claims that through it’s A.I quantum computing it can predict any social uprising 3-5 days in advance. Yet they can’t predict a terrorist attack or Mass shooting/Financial crisis, that will be used to justify even more erosion of personal freedom’s? Think about that for a minute.

The mad scientists at DARPA are another major contributor to building the Surveillance state framework. When they’re not perfecting way’s to autonomously kill or track down any of the D.O.D’s randomly selected enemies, They too are involved with mind reading the public and predicting their intended actions.

There’s a popular saying that if you aren’t paranoid, Then you aren’t paying attention. It’s not the intent of the article to make you paranoid, but aware of the facts of how these technologies are being used against you. In a world were everything is chipped and tracked the best recourse is to continue to research, identify and expose the plans of those who use these technologies to seize the freedoms of the public.

HR 4919: House bill passed that opens the door to Human Tracking

The House of Representatives overwhelmingly voted to pass a bill that critics say could open a Pandora’s Box to government tracking of Americans. H.R. 4919, which passed 346 to 66 in the lower chamber, also known as Kevin and Avonte’s Law, mandates the U.S. attorney general award grants to law enforcement officials so that those agencies can create, establish and operate “locative tracking technology programs.”

The programs mission would be to find “individuals with forms of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s Disease, or children with developmental disabilities, such as autism, who have wandered from safe environments.”

Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert, said the good intentions of the bill could be broadly interpreted.

While this initiative may have noble intentions, ‘small and temporary’ programs in the name of safety and security often evolve into permanent and enlarged bureaucracies that infringe on the American people’s freedoms. That is exactly what we have here. A safety problem exists for people with Alzheimer’s, autism and other mental health issues, so the fix, we are told, is to have the Department of Justice, start a tracking program so we can use some device or method to track these individuals 24/7,” Gohmert said in his floor speech.

Gohmert explained, “It is absolutely staggering that the Republican majorities in the House and Senate could be so blind to government overreach that they would allow a federal tracking program, not for criminals in the U.S., not for terrorists, not for illegal immigrants or even immigrants who commit crimes, but for people with ‘developmental disabilities’ a term that is subject to wide misinterpretation.

Boston P.D. Joining the Trend of Internet Surveillance Tech

Posted in News, Police State, Surveillance, Technology with tags , , , on December 13, 2016 by realizethelies

cyberpd

A whole host of reasons are being given to justify the increased surveillance and data mining of social media and the wider Internet itself: terrorism, suicide prevention, pre-crime detection of violence and other illegal acts, and even teenage alcohol abuse. This is being done at the federal level most egregiously with a recent ruling that the feds have now been given the green light to hack millions of private devices with only a single warrant.

This extends also to the smaller state/local level. Where many local police departments are willing to treat their their citizens as guilty until proven innocent. One of the key tools of this spreading surveillance state has been social media and Internet monitoring software. Many police departments and the federal government have taken the position that what can be found on social media is information from participants released willingly into the public domain, so it’s fair game for analysis.

An announcement from the Boston PD demonstrates that they appear willing to go to a whole new level of monitoring, which goes far beyond social media and would include just about anything that appears on the Web. The Boston Globe recently reported on the capabilities of this new software that will cost taxpayers $1.4 million for the privilege of having their free speech subjected to scrutiny and their civil liberties undermined

The software would be able to search blogs, websites, chat rooms, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. It would provide law enforcement officials with an address of where the content was posted and allow police to create a “geo-fence” that would send alerts when new posts are made within an area that meets specified search criteria.

In addition to the troubling concept of having Big Brother looking over the shoulder of anyone typing anything anywhere on the Internet is the stated desire to establish connections between users, opening people up to guilt by association.

The Boston PD is currently in the solicitation phase of seeking this technology and has set December 5th as the date to choose a supplier. It would behoove anyone living in Boston who has concerns about the threat to their privacy and right to assembly to immediately express your demands to the Boston PD in the hope that they will pull this program before it is implemented.

Deep State: America’s Shadow Government and Its Silent Coup

By John W. Whitehead

“Today the path to total dictatorship in the U.S. can be laid by strictly legal means, unseen and unheard by Congress, the President, or the people. Outwardly we have a Constitutional government. We have operating within our government and political system … a well-organized political-action group in this country, determined to destroy our Constitution and establish a one-party state
The important point to remember about this group is not its ideology but its organization… It operates secretly, silently, continuously to transform our Government…. This group … is answerable neither to the President, the Congress, nor the courts. It is practically irremovable.”

— Senator William Jenner, 1954 speech

Unaffected by elections. Unaltered by populist movements. Beyond the reach of the law. Say hello to America’s shadow government.

A corporatized, militarized, entrenched bureaucracy that is fully operational and staffed by unelected officials who are, in essence, running the country, this shadow government represents the hidden face of a government that has no respect for the freedom of its citizenry. No matter which candidate wins the presidential election, this shadow government is here to stay. Indeed, as recent documents by the FBI reveal, this shadow government—also referred to as “The 7th Floor Group”—may well have played a part in who will win the White House this year.

To be precise, however, the future president will actually inherit not one but two shadow governments.

The first shadow government, referred to as COG or Continuity of Government, is made up of unelected individuals who have been appointed to run the government in the event of a “catastrophe.” COG is a phantom menace waiting for the right circumstances—a terrorist attack, a natural disaster, an economic meltdown—to bring it out of the shadows, where it operates even now. When and if COG takes over, the police state will transition to martial law.

Yet it is the second shadow government—also referred to as the Deep State—that poses the greater threat to freedom right now. Comprised of unelected government bureaucrats, corporations, contractors, paper-pushers, and button-pushers who are actually calling the shots behind the scenes, this government within a government is the real reason “we the people” have no real control over our government.

So who or what is the Deep State?

It’s the militarized police, which have joined forces with state and federal law enforcement agencies in order to establish themselves as a standing army. It’s the fusion centers and spy agencies that have created a surveillance state and turned all of us into suspects. It’s the courthouses and prisons that have allowed corporate profits to take precedence over due process and justice. It’s the military empire with its private contractors and defense industry that is bankrupting the nation.

It’s what former congressional staffer Mike Lofgren refers to as “a hybrid of national security and law enforcement agencies”: the Department of Defense, the State Department, Homeland Security, the CIA, the Justice Department, the Treasury, the Executive Office of the President via the National Security Council, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, a handful of vital federal trial courts, and members of the defense and intelligence committees.

These are the key Elements that drive the shadow government. This is the hidden face of the American police state that will continue long past Election Day:

USA Patriot Act, NDAA.
America’s so-called war on terror, which it has relentlessly pursued since 9/11, will continue to chip away at our freedoms, unravel our Constitution and transform our nation into a battlefield, thanks in large part to such subversive legislation as the USA Patriot Act and National Defense Authorization Act. These laws completely circumvent the rule of law and the rights of American citizens. In so doing, they re-orient our legal landscape in such a way as to ensure that martial law, rather than the U.S. Constitution, is the map by which we navigate life in the United States. These laws will continue to be enforced no matter who gets elected.

Domestic surveillance.
No matter who wins the presidential popularity contest, the National Security Agency (NSA), with its $10.8 billion black ops annual budget, will continue to spy on every person in the United States who uses a computer or phone. Thus, on any given day, whether you’re walking through a store, driving your car, checking email, or talking to friends and family on the phone, you can be sure that some government agency, whether the NSA or some other entity, is listening in and tracking your behavior.
Full-body scanners at airports which perform virtual strip-searches of Americans traveling by plane, have gone mobile, with roving police vans that peer into vehicles and buildings alike—including homes. Coupled with the nation’s growing network of real-time surveillance cameras and facial recognition software, soon there really will be nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.

Global spying:
The NSA’s massive surveillance network, what the Washington Post refers to as a $500 billion “espionage empire,” will continue to span the globe and target every single person on the planet who uses a phone or a computer. The NSA’s Echelon program intercepts and analyzes virtually every phone call, fax and email message sent anywhere in the world. Echelon has also been a keystone in the government’s attempts at political and corporate espionage.

A Militarized police state.
Thanks to federal grant programs allowing the Pentagon to transfer surplus military supplies and weapons to local law enforcement agencies without charge, police forces will continue to be transformed from peace officers into heavily armed extensions of the military, complete with jackboots, helmets, shields, batons, pepper-spray, stun guns, assault rifles, body armor, miniature tanks and weaponized drones.
America’s law enforcement officials, no longer mere servants of the people entrusted with keeping the peace, will continue to keep the masses corralled, controlled, and treated like suspects and enemies rather than citizens.

Endless Wars

America’s expanding military empire will continue to bleed the country dry at a rate of more than $15 billion a month (or $20 million an hour). The Pentagon spends more on war than all 50 states combined spend on health, education, welfare, and safety. Yet what most Americans fail to recognize is that these ongoing wars have little to do with keeping the country safe and everything to do with enriching the military industrial complex at taxpayer expense.

The next president, much like the current president and his predecessors, will be little more than a figurehead, a puppet to entertain and distract the populace from what’s really going on. The Deep State not only holds the nation’s capital in thrall, but it also controls Wall Street (“which supplies the cash that keeps the political machine quiescent and operating as a diversionary marionette theater”) and Silicon Valley.

This is fascism in its most covert form, hiding behind public agencies and private companies to carry out its dirty deeds. It is a marriage between government bureaucrats and corporate fat cats.

So the next time you find yourselves despondent over the 2016 presidential candidates, remember that it’s just a puppet show intended to distract you from the silent coup being carried out by America’s shadow government.

$1 Trillion Spent On The US Police State Since 9/11

Posted in N.S.A., News, Police State, Social Engineering, Surveillance with tags , on September 22, 2016 by realizethelies

wartrillions

Never let a tragedy go unused. This mantra of the State is as strong today as it was the day after 9/11.
As 9/11 was used to invade and occupy Iraq and Afghanistan – securing a geopolitical foothold in the region like never before – civil rights have slowly been dismantled and energies were devoted to the development of a massive domestic surveillance state.

The Patriot Act, NSA warrantless wiretapping and FBI National Security Letters are a few examples of the abuses carried out under the banner of 9/11. The Snowden revelations finally began to jolt enough Americans into a state of awareness. The construction of domestic spying centers have increased at a frenzied rate as the “black budget” soared. The military- and surveillance-industrial complex couldn’t be happier, and indeed, their profit windfalls fueled about half of the economic recovery during the 2000s.

No one fully knows the extent of the “hidden world, growing beyond control” of the surveillance state. Six years ago a Washington Post investigation found:

Some 1,271 government organizations and 1,931 private companies work on programs related to counterterrorism, homeland security and intelligence in about 10,000 locations across the United States.
An estimated 854,000 people, nearly 1.5 times as many people as live in Washington, D.C., hold top-secret security clearances.
In Washington and the surrounding area, 33 building complexes for top-secret intelligence work are under construction or have been built since September 2001. Together they occupy the equivalent of almost three Pentagons or 22 U.S. Capitol buildings – about 17 million square feet of space.

There is no evidence to suggest this astounding growth has been put in check. In 2013, the Black Budget was $52.6 billion, spent on 16 spy agencies with over 107,000 employees. The “espionage empire…rivals or exceeds the levels at the height of the Cold War.” According to the New York Times, the amount spent on domestic counter-terrorism since 9/11 is a staggering $1 trillion. This is only for “homeland security measures,” not the overseas so-called War on Terror.

It is a disturbing insight into how the State can manage a sustained campaign of fear-mongering, with the aid of mainstream media, to fog the vision of the American populace while spending incredible amounts of our tax money on an almost non-existent threat.

The Department of Homeland Security receives the lion’s share of the funding, with $37 billion to be allotted there in 2017, out of the total $50.4 billion – an 11.5 percent increase over 2016.
The director of the Ohio Homeland Security agency, a prime beneficiary of the funding, says the San Bernardino and Orlando shootings justify all this spending and warns that another 9/11 could happen if we don’t remain committed to the spending.

He doesn’t explain how we can expect to stop a psychopath from grabbing a gun and shooting up a nightclub or a place of employment, unless they put in place the kind of total surveillance George Orwell fictionalized in his book 1984.

Terrifying New Weapons Police Are Using To Crush Protests

Posted in News, Police State, Surveillance, Technology with tags , , , , , , , on August 16, 2016 by realizethelies

taser_dees

The future of police technology has arrived, and it’s stranger and more terrifying than we could’ve possibly imagined.

Conspiracy theorists’ worst fears were confirmed last month when the New York Post reported that the NYPD now maintains an undisclosed number of unmarked, military-grade vans with X-ray radiation, capable of scanning the public and looking through building and vehicle walls.

This technology, called the “Z Backscatter” van, was used by the military in Afghanistan and costs somewhere between $729,000 and $825,000.
However, there’s no way we can know for sure what these futuristic vans are capable of, including potential health impacts due to radiation exposure, because the NYPD refuses to talk about them. The NYPD’s insistence on complete, blanketing secrecy is part of a growing trend within the surveillance state that civil rights advocates have been fighting for decades.

xrayvan

The Backscatter vans are only the beginning. Police departments around the nation have deployed a whole host of new devices, from laser light guns to facial recognition scanners. Here’s what’s being used by police right now:

Pain Ray Cannon (Active Denial System)

ADS

What began in the early days of the Bush Administration as a way to quell Iraq war-era uprisings could soon end up at local police departments.
The pain ray cannon, or “Active Denial System,” (ADS) as the police call it, is the latest form of military-grade crowd control. The weapon uses microwave beams to heat up the water and fat molecules in a person’s skin, effectively heating the person up until they run away.

Though “less-than-lethal,” its effects are anything but enjoyable. According to people who have had the pain ray tested on them, “it feels like someone opened an invisible door to a blast furnace in front of them, or that their skin was being scorched all over instantly. During protest situations, an ADS could be swept across large groups of people at a closer range than originally intended. The systems could be used to deter a crowd from a single area or to incapacitate drivers. If left unchecked, the pain ray cannon could allow for some pretty repulsive human rights violations.

LRAD Sound Cannons

LRAD

Instead of tear gas and batons, departments have taken to using Long Range Acoustic Devices (LRADs), to transmit a super-loud high-pitched scream into crowds. The sound is literally too painful to be around and is intended to “shape the behavior of potential threats”
Police Departments from New York City to Toronto to Ferguson, Missouri are using LRADs indiscriminately on protesters, causing excruciating pain to anyone within range.

This is not a precision tool,” said Gideon Oliver, a lawyers who wrote to NYPD Commissioner Bratton. “This is an area-of-effect weapon. When the police use it, it’s not as if they’re just targeting one person. It’s indiscriminate like teargas.”

Facial Recognition Software

FRtablet

With secrecy and deception clouding any conversation about the militarized surveillance state, we can only assume that we are being recorded almost all the time, at least in urban areas. The market has more than tripled since 2008, with cameras being used more invasively every day.

Just last year the Boston Police Department was caught testing out its facial recognition technology on attendees of Boston Calling music festival without their knowledge. Data on each individual’s build, clothes and skin color was captured on thousands of people.

The ACLU claims police departments are also attempting to gain access to private security cameras in order to expand their surveillance reach without having to install new cameras of their own.

HD Camera Drones

cameradrone

Even more aggressive than thousands of surveillance cameras on every street corner is police reconnaissance from the sky. Several police departments have deployed aircrafts with high-resolution cameras and software that can identify and track people over long distances. FBI versions of these planes include technology that may be able to capture private data from cellphones as they track someone, according to the Associated Press.

Concerns have been raised regarding use of this technology for police surveillance, including protection from “unreasonable search and seizure.” The U.S. Department of Justice released its own guidelines on the matter in May, barring federal law enforcement agencies from using drones to “monitor activity protected by the First Amendment”, such as peaceful protests.

Police State Trend: Law enforcement preparing for rioting on a national scale

Posted in Martial Law, News, Police State with tags , , on August 16, 2016 by realizethelies

riot_police

A new report from analysts with industry research group, Sandler Research, forecasts the Global Riot Control System Market for the next four years — but beyond a burgeoning market to parallel the expanding global police state, it appears world governments are also keenly aware of civilian discontent.
Sandler predicts the market will have an annual growth of 3.5 percent, and makes a telling juxtaposition, emphases added, involving the United States:
Law enforcement agencies around the world are the biggest market for riot control systems. This market is expected to generate revenues of over 3.5 billion USD by the end of 2020. Countries such as the U.S., Iran, Egypt, Russia, China, and Thailand have started procuring riot control equipment and are investing heavily in non-lethal weapons.

Specifically, the analysts continue:

“In North America, the prominent markets are Canada and the U.S. and law enforcement agencies in these nations are best equipped with the upgraded weapons. The militarization of the police department and other law enforcement agencies in the Americas has encouraged the use of advanced riot control equipment.”

Militarized police forces have become de rigueur, even in the nation’s smallest towns — but arming law enforcement with the weapons of war, rather than protecting civilians, has birthed a chasm of distrust and animosity on both sides. It isn’t as if this equipment is being produced by a marketplace intent on keeping civilians safe from an ostensible outside threat.

As if released in conjunction with one another, a report by Lloyd’s intones the necessity of preparedness as mass civil unrest can not only spark without prior warning, but flare outward, unpredictably — what the insurer calls “Political Violence Contagion.” According to the report, instances of political violence “contagion (pandemics) have become more frequent, and the contagion effect ever more rapid and impactful.”

Considering massive worldwide demonstrations in the U.S. and elsewhere — as people finally grasp how corrupt governments actually are — it becomes apparent in these reports the politicians and their enforcement agencies comprehend the greatest threat to their power.Together, the reports paint a dire prediction — not as much for its illustration of a world in chaos, but for its intimation authoritarian actors may act aggressively to quash even positive and peaceful change by the rest of us.
